Stella Liebeck is an 84-year old woman who was awarded $2.9 million dollars after suing McDonald's for burn injuries she received from excessively hot coffee. She's since been the butt of endless jokes and ridicule and the case is widely cited as an example of lawsuit abuse. But most Americans have never heard the full story.
Hot Coffee reveals what really happened to Stella Liebeck, the Albuquerque woman who spilled coffee on herself and sued McDonald’s, while exploring how and why the case garnered so much media attention, who funded the effort and to what end. Pulitzer Prize winning journalist discloses undocumented status in story of his life as undocumented immigrant

"My Life as an Undocumented Immigrant" is the personal story of Jose Antonio Vargas, former reporter for The Washington Post who shared a Pulitzer Prize for coverage of the Virginia Tech shootings, and who came to the United States from the Philippines as an undocumented immigrant in 1993 when he was 12 years old.
In his story he tells of being unaware of his undocumented status until he went at age 16 to the DMV to obtain a driver's permit and the clerk there informed him that his green card was fake. Vargas is the founder of Define American, which seeks to change the conversation on immigration reform. The following is an excerpt from his revealing article:

A fatal car accident that occured in West Goshen Township, Pennsylvania at about 3 a.m. has claimed the lives of MTV's 'Jackass' star Ryan Dunn and another passenger.
WEST GOSHEN TOWNSHIP, Pennsylvania (SL)- 34-year old Ryan Dunn who was driving the vehicle was known for his outlandish acts and stunts he performed as a star in MTV's 'Jackass' movie series. According to the West Goshen Township Police Department, the car Dunn was driving, a 2007 Porsche 911 GT3, was found "off the road and in the woods". It was also reported that the car was "fully engulfed in flames" when police arrived at the scene of the accident.
Police say that "speed may have been a contributing factor to the accident", however an investigation into the cause of the fatal car accident is ongoing.
